CARPE DIEM’s Art Deco design indulges in expensive materials: elegant ebony, shimmering fabrics and richly veined marble create a great play of light and dark
CARPE DIEM was built to a very detailed brief. The owner, a connoisseur of 1920s Art Deco, wanted a simple yet sophisticated environment with a sleek sense of modernity and touches of Hollywood glamour. The interior designer, Carol Williamson, was tasked with selecting vibrant, luxurious materials to create comfortable and inviting guest areas that would work for personal use and for charter. She did a superb job. The large windows flood the salons with natural light enhancing the black and white color scheme softened by touches of cream and silvery grey. Black and white photography of Hollywood celebrities puts the finishing touches to the dramatic décor.

Guest accommodations
CARPE DIEM sleeps 12 guests in six staterooms. The full-beam master suite with a private office, a lounge, and “his and her” bathrooms are on the main deck. The walls are upholstered in shimmering tufted silk reflecting Art Deco elegance with a touch of Golden Era Hollywood charm.
There are two other full beam suites on the lower deck and two guest staterooms, all with ensuite marble bathrooms. The VIP suite forward can be split into two separate staterooms. All staterooms are decorated in different fabrics but reflect a common Art Deco theme.
